The color wheel

The color wheel is divided into a warm and a cold zone. The warm colors are at the top, the cold ones at the bottom. Green can also be one of the warm colors if it is a yellow-green.

In addition to the pure and dirty colors, there are also the achromatic colors. These colors are black, white and gray. They are called "non-colors".



Importance of color

When choosing the colors, the artist leaves nothing to chance; he consciously and purposefully uses every color tone for the composition of the picture. Even in a nature study, the color is never "photographically" accurately reproduced. Colors and shapes are always implemented in the picture.
