Task description: Research and teaching in the field of differential geometry, whereby the broadest possible range from basic mathematical research to the development of specific applications is to be covered, e.g. B. in computer graphics, physics or architecture. The position holder should actively participate in the research in the SFB / Transregio 109 "Discretization in Geometry and Dynamics". Teaching in the math courses (including undergraduate studies) and adequate participation in the math service is expected. Participation in the Berlin Mathematical School (BMS) is desirable. It should be possible to hold the courses in German and English. The tasks also include the supervision of students in the preparation of theses and an appropriate participation in the tasks of academic self-administration.

Participation in the new Cluster of Excellence of Berlin Mathematics "MATH + - The BERLIN MATHEMATICS RESEARCH CENTER" is desired, and participation in the "Emerging Field" "Digital Shapes" is particularly expected.

Expected qualifications:Fulfillment of the appointment requirements according to § 100 BerlHG. This includes in particular a university degree in mathematics or a comparable subject, special aptitude for scientific work, which is usually proven by the outstanding quality of a doctorate in mathematics, additional scientific achievements and pedagogical aptitude, proven through initial teaching experience and presented in a teaching portfolio (More information on the TUB homepage, direct access 144242).

The future post holder is internationally scientifically proven in a current sub-area of ​​differential geometry and its applications in mathematical research through excellent research achievements, which are to be proven by relevant publications in journals with peer-review procedures. Relevant teaching experience, experience in supervising theses and experience in academic self-administration are expected. Experience in participating in third-party funded projects and in joint projects is also expected. Research is expected to be oriented towards integration in the working group "Geometry and Mathematical Physics" and in the SFB / Transregio "Discretization in Geometry and Dynamics" as well as in other planned joint projects.
