What is the VCC voltage

Forum: Microcontrollers and Digital Electronics What does VCC mean?

Spontaneous discussion in the development department: What do the abbreviations VCC, VSS, VDD, VEE mean? I have no idea ... any ideas?

Supply voltage for collector (cc), emitter (ee), source (ss), drain (dd). Double letters probably to indicate that there are several / all of them attached.

Jo, that would have been good if we didn't even know where to connect VSS and VDD, but the abbreviation was asked. I'm sure not everyone knew the abbreviations. But if it saved your day, please <:-)

VCC: Voltage at the Common Collector (positive [+] electrical connection) VSS: Voltage Source Source - also: VSS: Voltage for Substrate & Sources VDD: Voltage Drain Drain (semiconductors) VEE: not mentioned, but could be derived from the definition for VCC. Those are the results of a search at http://www.acronymfinder.com/ - also quite useful for many other abbreviations, if not perfect. In this context, you can also take a look at what AAAAAAA stands for. :-)

As far as I know, CC stands for "Collector-Collector", the outer collector connection which also takes into account rail resistances inside the component. So also with EE and BB.

3 years later I wrote what was already there;) All due respect ^^
