Day 2, Thursday, October 28, 2021

In the afternoon you land in Singapore. Skyscrapers, multinational corporations and modern large-scale projects bear witness to the rapid development of the economic metropolis. Flashing sidewalks, prosperity, hardly any crime - Singapore is the model country of Southeast Asia. But what about free speech and political opposition? Your Studiosus tour guide will welcome you to the hotel and give you tips for the evening off. In the restaurants on the Singapore River, you can try Chinese dim sum or Malaysian satay in the evenings. Or how about a Singapore Sling in the bar of the Raffles Hotel, where celebrities from Charlie Chaplin to Kaiser Wilhelm have stayed?

3rd day, Friday, October 29th, 2021

Singapore - modern multicultural metropolis
In the morning we get intoxicated by the fireworks of colors and scents in the botanical garden, then multicultural Singapore awaits you: women in colorful saris in Little India and smoldering incense sticks in the temples of Chinatown - this is where peoples and religions mix. Then it's off to the futuristic Marina Bay Sands, one of the most outstanding construction projects in the world. From its large viewing terrace, we look out over the megacity from a lofty 200 meters height. Explore Singapore individually in the afternoon! View from the second tallest Ferris wheel in the world or marvel at the flowers in the Gardens by the Bay? The hotel room is booked until 5 p.m. In the evening a pleasant direct flight with Singapore Airlines to Christchurch (flight time approx. 10 hours). (F)

4th day, Saturday, October 30th, 2021

Arrival in Christchurch, in the morning with Singapore Airlines and in the afternoon with Emirates. Time for your first flat white, the kiwi cappuccino, before your guide whisks you away to the botanical garden. Under venerable cedars, Mark, in proper style in a kilt, is playing a welcome greeting and tells of the tradition of the bagpipe bands in the New World. At dinner in the Victorian Curator's House, we get in the mood for culinary New Zealand. (A)

Day 5, Sunday, October 31, 2021

Landscape magic at Lake Tekapo
During a • walk (1 hour, easy, ↑ 0 m ↓ 150 m) in the Cashmere Hills, we look back at Christchurch, where the wounds of the 2011 earthquake are slowly healing. Extra tour
Would you like to go on extra tours? Studiosus has always prepared alternatives to the program. Rather more Christchurch than a stroll in the Cashmere Hills? Then stay in the city in the morning, rent a gondola on the Avon River and let the city show you its romantic side! Or join the "Kiwis" at a picnic in Hagley Park.

Day 6, Monday, November 1st, 2021

Mt. Cook, the cloud cutter
In front of the chain of the New Zealand Alps we • hike (3 hours, medium, ↑ 250 m ↓ 250 m) on the Hooker Valley Track - over mountain rivers in which pieces of glacier swim like ice cubes in the "glacier milk" - at the foot of Mt. Cook . It is no coincidence that the Maori named New Zealand's highest peak (3724 m) Aoraki, "Wolkenstecher". Will the shy comrade show up today? On the way to Lake Wanaka, the focus is on New Zealand's energy mix, in which hydropower plays the main role. 320 km. (F)

Day 7, Tuesday, November 2nd, 2021

In the realm of glacial lakes
Depending on the season, kiwis, apples or apricots ripen under Otago's sun. Do you fancy a vitamin kick? A thrill lurks at the Kawarau Bridge: At the birthplace of bungee jumping, we are there when daredevils jump into the depths on a rubber rope. At noon the Fiordland National Park (UNESCO World Heritage) lies in front of us: From the dreamy Lake Manapouri • we hike (3 hours, easy, ↑ 200 m ↓ 150 m) on the Kepler Track to Lake Te Anau. Driving distance 310 km. (F)

Day 8, Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021

Starry sky over Milford Sound
Waterfalls, lakes, glaciers and fjords: In the fjord country, where director Peter Jackson found the most beautiful backdrops for "Lord of the Rings", the nature of the South Island is at its best. Tree ferns like umbrellas stand in line while the soundtrack puts us in the mood for our • hike (4 hours, medium, ↑ 400 m ↓ 400 m) on the Routeburn Track. Then curtain up on Milford Sound - for the Maori the masterpiece of divine creation. 100 km. On the motor sailer Milford Mariner, we glide silently through the magical world that belongs to us almost alone in the late afternoon. If you like, you can kayak on the lookout for fur seals lolling on the rocks. When the setting sun creates a magical color in the evening, we enjoy a good drop for dinner. On deck you can then look for the Southern Cross in the evening sky. Overnight on board. (FA)
