Exchange antenna

of Pedestrian »Friday June 28th 2013, 3:09 pm

I can turn the antenna quite generously to the left / right on the roof, so that I can expect that it will soon be damp on / in the WFS and in the sky. Poetry has probably settled there over the years.

I will probably not be able to detach the antenna rod from the antenna base without destroying it. I've already used Caramba, but nothing works.

What connection does the antenna cable have at the antenna base?
Can I use any 08/15 roof antenna from Stahlgruber, ATU, etc.?
Is window sealant sufficient for sealing?

Or does someone have a superfluous antenna base in the cupboard at home? I still have antenna rods.

How do I get the interior lighting and WFS off non-destructively?

Thank you for your answers.

the original antenna holder actually fits all cheap antennas too .. they usually have a threaded rod with 2 different diameters and can be adapted ... I just pressed a seam into mine with black silicone and then made it nice with a puller .. If you do it correctly, it will also be zero noticeable ... just don't wiggle the antenna too much afterwards ... then you lift the silicone seam off the sheet metal again ...

The WFS receiver is simply pushed forward and then you can detach the cable.
To push you have to push the rear edge up a bit and then you go forward.
Otherwise, look in the e-bay for the WFS - there you can see the small plastic tabs on the carrier plate and know how to dismantle it.

.... and what kind of connector is used to connect the antenna cable to the foot section?
If I buy a third-party antenna (e.g. "16V antenna" from Ebäh), I would like to know beforehand whether the cable connection is the right one.

Thanks and regards

Is just a threaded pin on the antenna, there the antenna cable is attached with a cable eyelet and an SW8 hexagon screw, which also holds the antenna itself. Mass goes directly to the body

Slide the front cover on the lamp towards the window and remove. Remove the cable from the ZV receiver. Then you will see 2 Torx screws on the right and left. Belief T20. Get them out and slide the overhead console forward. Either remove the plug from the lamps or simply let the console dangle from it. Now you can already see the SW8 screw. Maybe it's just easy with you

So all my questions are answered "fit for work". Thanks!

A screw loose on me? Hmmm, I have to give my doctor a tip when the time comes again!

Actually, my fingernails are so sturdy that they work as screwdrivers in a pinch. But here it got painful until I had pushed that screen forward.

I sealed with the good, old, black, greasy window sealant (which has been in the basement for 30 years).

Thanks for the help!
