How can I lose weight while traveling

How can you lose weight on vacation? Diet tips for travel

Today I want to try my hand at being a nutritionist on my travel blog. Because before our last trip to Fuerteventura I had to deal with a real shock when packing my suitcase: My shorts no longer fit! Button and buttonhole no longer came close to one another! After I first hoped that the pants might have shrunk after the last wash, the next blow hit me on the scales: I had put on four kilograms! And that despite a low-carbohydrate diet and gym three times a week. The reason for the weight gain was probably the delicious rolls that I got from the bakery on the corner every morning during the summer months. So I had only one choice: I had to lose weight on vacation!!! In this blog post I will tell you how I managed to do this in the hotel without a diet.

Lose weight on vacation: Diet tips for the hotel:

Most people probably gain weight while on vacation. The reasons for this are - in the truest sense of the word - obvious:

  • Gluttony at the hotel buffet
  • Too many sweet drinks (especially on an all-inclusive vacation)
  • Little exercise as you lie lazily in the sun all day

However, I managed to lose weight on a 5-day Fuerteventura vacation - and that in an all-inclusive hotel! And to be honest, it wasn't difficult to lose weight during the trip. Because one of the reasons people get fat in the first place is convenience. In our stressful world we pay far too little attention to one of the most important aspects of our life: a healthy, balanced diet.

By the way: The books Low Carb for Beginners * and Slim with Low-Carb: The 28-Day Program * helped me a lot when I was losing weight on vacation.

Most of the working people who read this blog will probably be in the office most of the day. You don't get to work by bike, but by car. A lunch break is usually only an hour long, and often shorter. There is hardly any time for a healthy meal. Instead, you think about where you can get something tasty to eat quickly. The choice then usually falls on a pizza, a pasta dish, a hamburger or a kebab - the term Fast food so it is no coincidence. Even those who supposedly eat healthy, often do not eat figure-conscious: rice or potato dishes also make you fat. These so-called side dishes contain a lot of carbohydrates. If you want to lose weight, you should avoid foods rich in carbohydrates. Unfortunately, these are exactly those delicacies that we usually like the most:

  • loaf
  • Pasta
  • Pizza
  • French fries
  • hamburger
  • rice
  • Candy (sugar alert !!)
  • Fruit juices
  • Sodas

Lose weight while traveling: This is how you can get slim while on vacation

Above I have listed the worst fatteners for you. Unfortunately, these are exactly those dishes that a) are particularly tasty, and b) can be prepared quickly and easily (and can therefore be bought at every corner). On the other hand, if you want to eat healthily and figure-consciously, you not only have to invest money, but also time in preparation. You can eat as much of the following foods as you want without getting fat:

  • Meat (especially chicken)
  • fish and seafood
  • vegetables
  • Salads
  • Eggs
  • cheese
  • Nuts and kernels

And now the big advantage of a hotel with an all-inclusive buffet comes into play: Here you will find exactly the kind of food that you would find it much too difficult to prepare during the rest of the year! In addition, in most restaurants you get a so-called filling side dish (this word is totally misleading, but more on that later) in the form of french fries, pasta, rice or potatoes.

And now my exclusive tip on how you can lose weight on vacation without fasting: You can eat as much as you want at the hotel buffet! However, you should avoid the carbohydrate-rich foods! Many people are afraid that they won't be full without fries, rice or potatoes as a side dish - but that's total nonsense!

Fill your plate with as much meat or fish, vegetables and salad as you can eat! You are also welcome to get a second serving from the buffet if you are still hungry after the first plate. And still you will lose weight and get slim on vacation! As a drink, water is ideal for losing weight because it does not contain sugar. However, since I don't like pure water, I mixed spritzers at the vending machine: lots of water, little juice.

However, you should avoid the following foods if you really want to lose weight on vacation:

  • loaf
  • French fries
  • rice
  • Potatoes
  • Pasta
  • Sweets for dessert
  • Sweet drinks
  • Ketchup

But don't worry: At a rich buffet in the hotel you will find plenty of tasty dishes that are low in carbohydrates. If you still can't resist the tempting pasta specialties or the steamy journey, you should simply take half the portion. However, it is better and more promising to pull yourself together and completely avoid these fattening foods during meals. I did the same thing on vacation - and after only five days I had lost two kilos without starving.

Another advantage that makes it easier for you to lose weight on vacation is lots of exercise and sport. If you don't own a swimming pool at home or are afraid of going to the swimming pool after work, you can swim a few laps in the hotel pool every day while on holiday. Or you plunge into the sea after sunbathing and really let off steam there in the water. You should of course make the way to the beach on foot or by bike instead of in the bus or rental car. Of course, you can also rent a bike to explore the resort by bike. Because exercise is one of the best ways to get thin!

With these tips it is very easy to lose weight on vacation without a diet and still enjoy the delicious food in the hotel!
