How do I find a turtle

Where / how can you best find a turtle?

When asked if she likes herbs, you should actually be able to answer for yourself.

.

Anyway, I'll still try to give you a few tips. First of all, you will definitely get praise that the turtle has its own outdoor enclosure and does not linger inside the terrarium !!!

.

Turtles like it warm. The warmer it is, the more active they are and the further they can run. At the moment it is so warm that I suspect she will want to protect herself from it in the shelter. I assume that it was hiding under hedges / bushes or shrubs. If possible, she will have buried herself.

.

Turtles like all wild herbs and these are also the healthiest. These include nettle, dandelion, ribwort, plantain, dead nettle, clover, etc. You will certainly not be able to attract them with such herbs if they find it in your environment. Usually fruits and vegetables are very unhealthy (harms the intestinal flora), but it is allowed to lure them ;-) Give strawberries or put a piece of cucumber down.

.

Incidentally, turtles use the morning sun most actively. That means the best part of the morning to catch her is.

.

Otherwise you could put something "homely" in the garden, for example a cave from the enclosure, where she normally sleeps in it.

.

It is also often the case that turtles come back to the outdoor enclosure. Only they won't find the "breakthrough hole" again. So there is definitely a chance that she will sit by the fence.

.

Be sure to inform the neighbors. You can also hang up notes in the village or place advertisements in the newspaper. Also ask at the shelter and report it to the authorities (where it is registered) as missing.

.

Turtles often only appear months later. So don't go crazy if you can't find her for the next few days.

I got mine from a finder after three weeks.

.

Did I read you correctly that your tortoise has a pond in its enclosure? Tortoises are non-swimmers. The water should only be deep enough so that you can easily lift your head out. Even if they fall on their backs.

.

All the best.
