How can I comment on a diagram? ¶

In the opened diagram you will find the entry in the menu bar Comments. With one click on the Comments The comment bar opens on the right. Alternatively, you can use the Comments also open via the context menu. This appears by right-clicking in the editor. You can now see comments in the comment bar, provided they have already been submitted.

Click on the green plus to post a new comment. An input field opens in which you can enter your comment.

Then click on Send. Your comment appears directly in the comment bar, the time of submission and the name of the commentator are also displayed.

If you do not want to send a comment, cancel the process with ESCButton or a click in the comment bar outside the comment field.

Some users will receive an email notification of a new comment. This is described below for the individual areas:

  • Local workspace: No notification is sent here. Modelers can see comments in this area if they have checked out the diagram and use them as a to-do list, for example.

  • Public work area: A notification will be sent to the author and sent to users involved in the conversation.

  • preview: A notification will be sent to the tester and sent to users involved in the conversation.

  • publication: A notification is sent to the user or user group specified in the attribute Responsible person is entered and sent to users involved in the conversation.

Comments are area-dependent. This is due to the different work statuses and versions in the individual areas. For example, this means that users in the publication cannot see comments from the public workspace. Comments on assignment diagrams can always be viewed. This means that it does not matter whether you are currently in the assignment diagram or in the higher-level diagram.

How can I edit or delete a comment on a diagram? ¶

In the comment bar, navigate to the comment that you want to edit or delete. Then open the context menu of the desired comment.

Select the entry To editif you want to edit the comment or the entry Clearif you want to delete the comment.

Administrators and editors have the right to edit or delete all comments. All other user roles can only use these functions for their own comments.

How can I comment on an object? ¶

Objects can be commented on independently of one another in each version of a diagram and not across diagrams.

Right-click on the object that you want to comment on. Select the entry comment out.

The comment window will now open. Here you can see existing comments and enter your comment.

Confirm your entry with Send Button. Your comment is now visible to other users with access to this workspace.

If you do not want to send a comment, cancel the process with ESCButton or a click on x from.

How can I edit or delete a comment on an object? ¶

Each user can edit and delete their own comments. Administrators can also make these changes all make existing comments.

Open the comments with a right click on the object and a click on the menu item comment.

Navigate to the comment that you want to edit or delete. Select one of the symbols that appear for the To edit (Pen) or Clear (Ton) of comment.

The processes must be confirmed in each case in order to apply the changes.

How can I see which objects have already been commented? ¶

You can activate the comment marker in the local and public workspace. Navigate to the comment bar by pressing the Comments click in the menu bar.

Select the entry Show comment markers on objects.

A yellow flag with the number of existing comments will now appear on each object that has already been commented.

By clicking on a flag, the corresponding comments for an object are displayed.

The comment marker can also be hidden again in the same way.

How can I delete all comments? ¶

Navigate to the comment bar and open the context menu there with one click More options, represented by three superimposed points.

Select the option here Delete all comments out.

A security question then appears, which you can click on Delete comments can confirm. The displayed diagram will then show all Diagram and object comments deleted.

Since comments are area-dependent, the deletion of comments only relates to the currently displayed version of the diagram.
