Talks with the tobacco industry

Article 5 (3) of the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) of May 21, 2003 reads: "When defining and implementing their health policies with regard to tobacco control, the contracting parties shall protect them Action in accordance with national law over the commercial and other legitimate interests of the tobacco industry ".

There are guidelines for the implementation of this article, which are not legally binding, but explain individual provisions in more detail, give recommendations and name specific activities for the implementation of the measures. Among other things, these guidelines provide for measures to be taken to make interactions with the tobacco industry transparent and public.
