Is Toyota better than Honda

Japanese car manufacturers have left the competition behind when it comes to customer satisfaction in Germany. The first three places in a ranking by the market research company J.D. Power is occupied by three manufacturers from Japan: Honda, Toyota and Subaru. The Munich car maker BMW follows in fourth place.

For the first time in five years, Honda was able to break the supremacy of Toyota, relegating the competitor to second place by just one point, according to market researchers from J.D. Power reported on Tuesday in Berlin. Compared to the previous year, Volkswagen had made the biggest leap forward: the Wolfsburg-based company improved from 23rd to 13th place. The German premium brands BMW, Audi (seventh place) and Mercedes-Benz (eighth place) have also improved significantly.

Four categories were included in the final calculation of the ranking: vehicle attractiveness, vehicle quality, maintenance costs and satisfaction with the authorized dealer. In the vehicle attractiveness category, Audi shares the top position with Honda, with BMW following in third place. The bottom line is that Honda is at the top with 848 out of 1000 possible points.

Toyota Prius wins the model classification

In the evaluation of 112 individual models, the Toyota Prius was the first hybrid vehicle to land at the top, followed by the Toyota Yaris Verso and the Honda Accord. The best German model is the BMW 5 series. For the study, the market researchers questioned more than 20,000 drivers whose cars are on average two years old.
