Product description
There is more to mental health than the absence of illness. On the one hand, even in the case of severe illnesses, we speak of the resources and creative potential of the person concerned, which are also referred to as "healthy parts". On the other hand, definitions of health such as those of the WHO include the possibility of comprehensive self-actualization of the person in interaction with others. In this volume, the definition of mental health is therefore differentiated from approaches to the description of mental health and discussed on the basis of the (at least partially) congruent therapy goals of schools of psychotherapy. It is postulated that self-confidence, empathy and the ability to design flexible actions can be considered therapy goals in conversation psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy and psychoanalysis. Mental health thus refers to the possibility of social participation, the limitation of which must be addressed in the respective social context and whose implementation can only succeed in solidarity.
