How much is infinite minus 1

Infinite minus infinity

The result of the calculation of infinity minus infinity is not zero, but rather

Explanation

Infinity is not a number and has no particular value. The calculation

∞ − 1 = ∞

shows that too. You could convert that to

∞ − ∞ = 1

but that's not true. You can also calculate

∞ − 2 = ∞

and then you get

∞ − ∞ = 2

It can have any value (possibly even zero) and is therefore indefinite.

the equation

has three solutions, namely

You can see these intersections in the graphic.

Let's do something fancy and take it

because that is indefinite. In the graphic you can see that there are actually only three intersection points.
