How were horoscopes invented

The horoscope - its origin, the making

The roots of astrology go back to the 4th millennium BC. In Mesopotamia, stone zodiac symbols have been found that date from this period. In China there was probably already a prognostic astrology in the 3rd millennium BC. In India, astrological texts can be found in the Vedas dating from the 2nd millennium BC. Come from BC. The Assyrian and Babylonian priests cultivated the lore and explored the position of the planets, the meaning of the eclipses and placed their art at the service of their king. Cuneiform tablets from the time 640 BC BC prove this. In the 5th century v. The zodiac as we know it today was divided into twelve.

In the past, astrology and astronomy were not a separate discipline. Ptolemy was born around 100 AD, lived in Alexandria as a geographer and astronomer, died around 178. With his tetrabiblos (= book in four sections), Ptolemy wrote an astrology textbook. Many of the terms and rules that are still valid today were derived from the Tetrabiblos.

In the times of Christian Rome, astrology and the occupation with it was forbidden. It was only Charlemagne who initiated a "come back" of astrology around 800 AD. In the 12th and 13th centuries AD, astrological thinking was again spread and refined by the Arabs. From then on, astrology became increasingly important again. Thomas Aquinas wrote a work that deals with the interactions between humans and the cosmos. In the 14th century AD Astrology was taught in universities. Chairs have been established in Oxford, Florence, Paris ...

In the 16th and 17th centuries AD, Nicolaus Copernicus discovered that the previously valid geocentric worldview was wrong and postulated the heliocentric worldview. This was in no contradiction to astrological thinking. Even Johannes Kepler was a devotee of astrology. At this time, the house systems were also further developed. Kepler was of the opinion that they were not meaningful, but the planetary constellations were.

Astrology and its view of the world were then superseded by the Enlightenment and replaced by a technology and belief in progress that is no longer based on holistic thinking. Man learns to experience himself separated from the wholeness and begins to seek his salvation in progress. In 1817 the last astrological chair at a German university is abolished. Astrology then eked out an existence in secret societies and circles.

In the 20th century AD there is a revival of the astrological ideas. Institutes are founded and scientific research begins to deal with astrology.

It goes without saying, however, that the daily horoscope in various newspapers is only intended for entertainment or amusement!

What is a horoscope

The horoscope is the snapshot of the sky at the time of your birth. The word horoscope means "to look into the hour". This is used to determine the quality of the time. Every point in time has an individual, special nature and everything corresponding to it in terms of its meaning and content can be observed at the same time on the material level.

The "Tabula Smaragdina" ascribed to Hermes Trismegistos contains the proposition "as above so below and as below so above". It can therefore be concluded from the large to the small and vice versa. The natal chart shows us what is about to unfold like a seed.
In a sense, the beginning contains the end, which is why it is important to start a business at the right time. Finding out this is the task of hourly astrology.

The natal chart contains all important topics of a life in coded form. They appear in certain rhythms that can be determined in time by the astrological forecasting methods, such as the planetary cycles, the directions, progressions, solar and transits.
Which events evoke the confrontation with certain topics depends on the awareness and maturity (the horoscope does not provide any information about this) of the personality.

When it comes to partnership, the horoscope is also a guide. Various astrological techniques such as synastry (the comparison of two horoscopes), composite or combin allow conclusions to be drawn about the compatibility of the partners and the longevity of a relationship.

Also ideal locations that are conducive to the development of personal dispositions can be determined by means of astrological calculations. The result is an astrogeography map that shows where and which experiences can be expected. Whether they will definitely arrive after that is another question ... ;-)
