Mercedes-Benz: Partnership with Marriott expanded

The hotel chain Marriott has replaced the loyalty programs Marriott Rewards, The Ritz-Carlton Rewards and Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) with Marriott Bonvoy, which is advertised on the racing cars of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas and on the overalls. "Our marketing partnership with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport Team gives the members of Marriott Bonvoy, many of whom are supporters of the team, the opportunity to pursue their passion for the sport," says Karin Timpone, Global Marketing Officer at Marriott International.

The unique experiences of Marriott Bonvoy Moments - the experience platform of the loyalty program, in which members can redeem their points - include: An overnight stay on the exclusive Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport luxury yacht during the Monaco Grand Prix, including catering during the racing weekend ; a trip to the track with drivers Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas on race day; a ride in a high-performance Mercedes-AMG vehicle on the race track with a professional driver during the race weekend; Lessons for the pit stop competition from the experts themselves. These Marriott Bonvoy moments are in addition to other member experiences such as a look behind the scenes of the team during a Grand Prix weekend for the ultimate fan selfie, where drivers, media and celebrities are, visits to the pits and the best seats for spectators and other experiences during the season.

"We are delighted to be able to further expand our marketing partnership with Marriott International," says Toto Wolff, Team Principal and Managing Director of Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport. «We can already look back on seven very successful years together, but now we are taking our marketing partnership to a new level. The extension shows that Formula 1 continues to grow as a marketing platform for leading global brands that want to further strengthen their brand awareness and brand value. In addition to access to a huge, global audience, F1 offers our partners and their customers the opportunity to offer unique and one-off experiences that perfectly match the exciting and exclusive nature of sport. We are very pleased that we can now offer these experiences to members of Marriott Bonvoy. "

The new agreement not only expands the marketing partnership that has been in existence for seven years, it also expands it considerably. For example, it goes beyond typical meet & greets and offers members the opportunity to spend time with the drivers in a relaxed and luxurious environment.

As part of the multi-year agreement, Marriott Bonvoy will become the team's “Official Hotel Loyalty Program” and The Ritz-Carlton, one of Marriott's luxury brands, will become the team's “Official Hotel Partner”. The Marriott Bonvoy and The Ritz-Carlton logos will appear on the racing suits of drivers Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas. Marriott Bonvoy, meanwhile, will become the team's first partner brand to appear on the halo of the two vehicles. The Ritz-Carlton will offer its legendary service in the team's premium VIP hospitality at the racetrack. As part of this, the so-called Silver Arrows Lounge will be called The Ritz-Carlton Silver Arrows Lounge in some markets. Together with other marketing measures, Marriott Bonvoy and The Ritz-Carlton will bring the partnership closer to their guests via social media, in-room TV and Marriott Bonvoy Traveler, the company's popular digital magazine.
