What are the best schools for writers

A school for tomorrow's writers

The “Carinthian Writing School” introduces itself with a party in the Klagenfurt Musilmuseum (Wednesday, May 14th, from 6.30 pm). "It is the first adult education institution in Carinthia that is exclusively dedicated to creative writing," explains author and Germanist Roland Zingerle, who runs the writing school together with Germanist and author Walter Fanta and crime novelist Johannes Zimmer alias Paul Martin.

Zingerle is pedagogical director and lecturer and, in addition to his experience as a freelance author and journalist, brings five years of teaching experience at the Free Academy of Carinthia. Fanta is a lecturer at the writing school and has been passing on his specialist knowledge as an employee of the Robert Musil Institute as well as his writing coaching experience for 25 years. Martin is a literary career changer and is responsible for the administrative and organizational part of the writing school.

In the foreground of the very practice-oriented writing school is always "working on your own text", emphasizes Zingerle. The educational offer of the “Carinthian Writing School” ranges from a two-year writing course to topic-related day workshops and writing weekends. The first courses or writing coaching will start in June.

Extract from the range of courses: German literary history, publishing your own book: how and where, writing coaching, individual coaching, public relations for authors, public reading and event organization, easy publishing of e-books, self-publishing, search for a publisher, writing technique, novel, narration and Short story, poetry internship.
