Epic: Fortnite for Google Stadia is not worth it

Fortnite has conquered various platforms in recent years and Epic Games has even optimized the game for smartphones and the Nintendo Switch. But what about Google Stadia? There is a rejection from Tim Sweeney.

It's already very expensive to maintain the game on 7+ platforms, but Google Stadia doesn't have enough users to add another one. Stadia is supported with the Unreal Engine, but Fortnite is not planned.

It's also interesting that Epic has already confirmed that Fortnite will be available and optimized for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X when it launches. And these two consoles currently have no users at all. Still, one works on it. Or to put it another way: You probably don't believe in Google Stadia.

There's not a deep reason. We fully support Stadia in Unreal Engine however the effort required to release Fortnite updates weekly in sync across 7+ platform is extreme and that makes it hard to add platforms that don’t yet have mass market user bases.
