Summary

China's middle class is growing at an unprecedented rate. It literally explodes. China already has the largest middle class in the world. At the end of 2016, around 793 million people lived in urban areas in China. Of course, not all city dwellers are automatically considered to be middle class, but according to current forecasts by management consultancy McKinsey & Co., over 550 million people in China will be considered middle class by 2022.
