Home remedies help with hair growth
Home remedies for hair loss - these are the 10 natural helpers
The older a person gets, the thinner and more fragile their hair becomes. Men are usually affected earlier and more severely than women. Hair loss is not always age-related, and young people can already suffer from bald spots on the scalp. Sometimes the genes are to blame, and some types of hair loss are hereditary. But illnesses or drugs can also be triggers, as can hormonal disorders or stress. Even diet can have an impact on hair growth. The causes are therefore diverse.
1. Using apple cider vinegar as a hair loss remedy
Apple cider vinegar is considered to be the best natural hair product. Because the natural product cleanses skin and hair more thoroughly than a shampoo. Since clogged pores are known to be one of the causes of hair loss, apple cider vinegar can also help stimulate hair growth. In addition, the acetic acid has a disinfecting effect and kills fungi and bacteria.
For a hair wash, 30 milliliters of apple cider vinegar is sufficient, which is mixed with 60 milliliters of warm water. The mixture makes a hair conditioner that is not rinsed out.
2. How does garlic shampoo work on the scalp?
The ancient Egyptians are said to have used garlic in the fight against hair loss. The scalp was simply rubbed with a raw toe for this purpose. However, this type of application is no longer an option today because of the unpleasant smell. Garlic oil and garlic shampoo are better alternatives. But does garlic even help against hair loss? Well, the effect is not scientifically proven. But what is known for sure is that garlic has a vasodilating effect and stimulates blood circulation. Depending on the cause, a garlic shampoo could also effectively support the fight against hair loss.
Garlic shampoo is commercially available, but you can also make it yourself. To do this, chop up five to ten cloves of garlic and process the mass with a little water into a creamy paste. If you are bothered by the smell, you can add a few drops of essential oil. Finally, the paste is mixed with a natural cosmetic shampoo and can be used immediately to wash your hair.
3. The nettle and its active ingredients
The nettle is one of the oldest medicinal herbs, its use goes back to ancient times. The active ingredients are mainly vitamins A and C, magnesium, iron, calcium, silicon, other minerals and flavonoids. The stinging nettle is primarily an effective remedy for hair loss if a nutritional deficiency is the cause. You can also use it to counteract hyperacidity. Because the leaves have basic properties and neutralize too much acid. The medicinal properties of the plant have already been proven in several studies.
If you want to take a cure with nettle tea to compensate for a lack of nutrients, then you should collect very young plants, even before they bloom. You can use the leaves either fresh or dried, pour boiling water over them and strain after about ten minutes.
4. The application with different oils
Some oils are also said to have positive effects on hair growth.
- Argan oil
In its country of origin, Morocco, this oil has been used against hair problems for thousands of years. It has moisturizing properties and contains vitamin E, which is said to have a positive effect on the regeneration of skin and hair.
- Prickly pear seed oil
This oil is considered to be the most expensive in the world. As a remedy for hair loss, it is said to be particularly suitable due to its antioxidant effect. This effect has already been proven in several studies.
- Coconut oil
The high-quality fats in coconut oil are particularly quickly absorbed by the scalp and improve the supply of nutrients to the hair follicles. The lauric acid it also contains forms monolaurin on the scalp, which destroys fungi and bacteria that can play a major role in hair loss.
Other oils that have proven themselves in the fight against hair loss are, for example, jojoba oil, burdock oil or rosemary oil. All of them promote blood circulation in the scalp and thus ensure an optimized supply of nutrients.
Hair oil works best when left on overnight. Use just a few drops and massage into your hair and scalp. The next morning, wash your hair as usual.
5. Aloe Vera as a suitable home remedy for hair loss
Aloe Vera is a very special remedy for hair loss. Because this plant contains the active ingredient beta-sitosterol. It is a phytosterol with hormonal effectiveness. The substance promotes blood circulation and optimizes the supply of nutrients to the hair follicles.
As a home remedy for hair loss, you can apply the juice of the aloe vera directly to the scalp and leave it on for about three hours. A towel around your head intensifies the effect. Then rinse with water.
6. Beer and hair loss
Thanks to its valuable ingredients such as vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin B6, biotin, niacin, folic acid and pantothenic acid, beer has become known as a remedy for hair loss.
You can use beer as a hair conditioner and leave it on for about a quarter of an hour. Apply the conditioner several times a week.
7. Lemon and glycerine as an insider tip
The acidity of lemon regulates the pH of the hair and scalp and also eliminates dead cells. Ingredients such as vitamin C, vitamins of the B complex, folic acid and essential minerals contribute to the positive effect of lemon on hair growth. Together with glycerine, it is even considered an insider tip against hair loss.
Mix lemon juice with glycerin and rub it on your scalp. You should do this several times a week.
8. The brush and its effect on the scalp
Even the grandmother knew that the famous 100 brush strokes a day are a blessing for hair and scalp. And she was right about that. Because intensive brushing not only stimulates blood circulation, fat and sebum also come out of the pores to a greater extent due to the massage effect. The hair muscles are actively trained and sticky fasciae are loosened.
9. Coffee against hair loss
The caffeine contained in coffee also has blood circulation-promoting properties and can thus improve the supply of nutrients to the hair roots.
Pour a cup of cooled coffee over your head and massage the liquid in thoroughly. A few minutes exposure time is sufficient, then you can rinse the coffee out again. You should repeat the application daily.
10. Beetroot for the hair cells
The beetroot is said to promote hair and scalp health and stimulate hair growth. This is ensured by valuable ingredients such as vitamins B and C, proteins, potassium, phosphorus, calcium and carbohydrates. The tuber also contains betacyane, which are natural antioxidants. Betanin and betaine have a special effect in the fight against hair loss, they strengthen the immune system and the density of the hair.
For a beetroot hair conditioner, boil the leaves of the plant, puree them and use henna to make a creamy paste. Leave it to work in the hair for about 20 minutes. The treatment can lead to a slightly reddish discoloration of the hair, depending on whether you use colorless or red henna, you can increase or decrease this effect.
