Keeping Fragments of a Soul and Preventing Death

owner
We want to be silent about the Horcrux, the most nefarious of all magical inventions, and also not give a hint -
Bad magic[src]

A Horcrux is an object in which a black wizard locks part of his soul. In order to create a horcrux, shortly after the wizard has killed someone, a part of his soul has to be split off with the help of black magic so that an object can absorb this part of the soul and henceforth exist as a horcrux. Horcruxes are difficult to destroy.

history

Tom Riddle asked his then Head of House at Hogwarts, Horace Slughorn, when he was still a student Horcruxes. Reluctantly, he told him what he knew.

functionality

A horcrux is an object in which you catch a part of your soul and keep it hidden. If someone dies who has made a horcrux of himself, the soul fragment in him will be killed, but the horcruxes can continue to exist in their lifeless host or nestle in foreign, living bodies and with the help of others through a black magic ritual a body capable of acting again create.

This ritual performs Wormtail on the pathetic remains of Lord Voldemort, which Harry calls the something ugly, slimy, and blind, as well as child-sized maximums, in Little Hangleton Cemetery. To do this, the remains of wormtail are placed in a large cauldron of boiling water, and the bones of the father, the flesh of the servant and the blood of the enemy are added.

creation

Not much is known about the creation of a Horcrux. Suffice it to say, it requires murder. In addition, a ritual which is so bad that J.K. Rowling describes it as something indescribably cruel. If someone kills another person, a part of his soul can be split off by a black magic spell and kept in any object.

destruction

A Horcrux can only be destroyed by the few means that even the most powerful magic can no longer repair. These include the poison of a basilisk, the goblin weapons treated with it and the demon fire generated by black magic. A Horcrux can also be destroyed by its creator.

After all Horcruxes created by Lord Voldemort were destroyed in one of these ways, Voldemort could be killed in the normal way by Harry Potter, as the fragment of soul remaining in his body was thus wiped out.
