In addition, Henry VIII is said to have had some illegitimate children with his lovers Elizabeth Blount and Mary Boleyn. He officially recognized the illegitimate son Henry Fitzroy (born June 15, 1519; June 18, 1536) from his relationship with Elizabeth Blount. Whether the children of Mary Boleyn, incidentally sister of his future wife Anne, Catherine Carey (* 1523/24; August 15, 1569) and Henry Carey (* March 4, 1526; July 23, 1596) as well were conceived by Henry VIII is unknown. At least in theory he could be considered a father.
