Registration is required to provide certain content or services on our websites. When concluding a subscription or when purchasing a paid service, we use your contract master data including contact details for the execution and fulfillment of the contract, as is the case, for example, with processing operations for the delivery of goods or the provision of other services or consideration, as well as the enforcement of Legal claims or demands is necessary (Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. b GDPR). The same applies to such processing operations that are necessary to carry out pre-contractual measures, for example in cases of inquiries about our products or services. In the case of paid services, we process certain data because we are subject to a legal obligation that requires the processing of personal data, for example to fulfill tax obligations (Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. c GDPR).
We also use the e-mail address you collected in the course of registration or the performance of the contract to inform you by e-mail about our own similar goods or services as well as about existing subscriptions or about our online services in general. On the Internet, every device needs a unique address to transfer data, the so-called IP address. The at least temporary storage of the IP address is technically necessary to enable the website to be delivered to the user's computer. We shorten the IP addresses before any processing and only process them anonymously. There is no storage or further processing of the unabridged IP addresses. This also enables us to display content with a regional reference on all of our websites that are accessed from a specific region. This so-called geo-localization, i.e. the assignment of a website call to the location of the call, takes place exclusively on the basis of the anonymized IP address and only up to the geographical level of the federal states / regions. Under no circumstances can a conclusion be drawn about the specific whereabouts of a user from the geographical information obtained in this way. Our servers also save your IP address for 14 days for their own security purposes.
On our website and in blogs, as well as on general feedback pages, we occasionally offer the opportunity to provide comments, feedback or to report bugs and incorrect content, as well as to take part in surveys, whereby additional personal data that you provide yourself is stored. In these cases, we process the data that you transmit to us. If your entries are intended for publication and you have given your consent, you can submit comments and subscribe to our online services. The same goes for surveys you take part in. If you want to publish a comment, you have to fill in the fields provided. You can also use a pseudonym here. If you don't fill in the fields, you won't be able to post a comment. We collect and process the data you provide in order to be able to publish your comment as requested (Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. b GDPR). In particular, we also need your e-mail address in order to be able to contact you in the event of complaints about your comment or your report and to give you the opportunity to comment (Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. c GDPR).
In the case of processing operations that are not covered by any or more of the aforementioned legal bases, the processing takes place if it is necessary to safeguard a legitimate interest and, based on a comprehensive weighing of interests, do not outweigh your interests, fundamental rights and fundamental freedoms (Art. 6 Paragraph 1 lit. GDPR). A legitimate interest is to be assumed if the person concerned is a customer of the person responsible. If the processing of personal data is based on this, our legitimate interest is, in particular, the conduct of our business activities for the benefit of all our employees and our shareholders.
Our legitimate interest in being able to offer you tailor-made products, to inform you about our products, innovations and quality features as well as to continuously improve our services and products and thereby also increase our sales is the legal basis for processing for the purpose of big data, direct marketing (own Advertising and advertising of third parties), market research, usage-based online advertising, web / app analysis and advertising scoring (merging of various selection criteria for suitable advertising). For details of web analysis services, see section 9.
Our legitimate interest in preventing fraud, ensuring network and information security and the reliability of our service provision or our products also serve as the legal basis for the processing of certain data.
Another legitimate interest is the functionality of the company processes, on the basis of which processing for internal administrative purposes (e.g. address management / invoicing) takes place.
If you choose the payment method purchase on account when concluding a fee-based contract, we will carry out a credit check on the basis of consent or our legitimate interest in avoiding the risk of unpaid claims in order to check your creditworthiness.
We also rely on our legitimate interest in exercising freedom of expression and information when we process personal data of the data subjects in our reporting.
You can object to processing on the basis of a legitimate interest at any time (see section 15.).
In the event that the data are processed for a purpose other than that specified for the data collection, a compatibility check is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 4 GDPR. Further processing is only permitted if the original purpose is compatible with the new purpose or is permitted on the basis of a separate legal basis. Recognized compatible purposes include: the assertion, exercise or defense of civil law claims unless there is an overriding interest of the person concerned. In this case, we will inform you of the change in purpose. If the new purpose is not compatible with the purpose stated in the survey, a new survey will be carried out on the basis of a new legal basis. Here, too, we will inform you of the change in purpose.
5. Place of processing

We have integrated Google AdSense on this website. Google AdSense is an online service that enables advertising to be placed on third-party sites. Google AdSense is based on an algorithm that selects the advertisements displayed on third-party sites to match the content of the respective third-party site. Google AdSense allows interest-based targeting of the Internet user, which is implemented by generating individual user profiles.
The operating company of the Google AdSense component is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. The purpose of the Google AdSense component is to integrate advertisements on our website. Google AdSense places a cookie on the information technology system of the person concerned. What cookies are has already been explained above. By setting the cookie, Alphabet Inc. is able to analyze the use of our website. Each time one of the individual pages of this website, which is operated by us and on which a Google AdSense component has been integrated, is called up, the Internet browser on the information technology system of the person concerned is automatically prompted by the respective Google AdSense component to transfer data for the purpose Submit online advertising and billing of commissions to Alphabet Inc. As part of this technical process, Alphabet Inc. gains knowledge of personal data, such as the IP address of the person concerned, which Alphabet Inc. uses, among other things, to understand the origin of visitors and clicks and subsequently to enable commission accounting.
The person concerned can prevent the setting of cookies by our website, as already shown above, at any time by means of a corresponding setting in the Internet browser used and thus permanently object to the setting of cookies. Such a setting of the internet browser used would also prevent Alphabet Inc. from setting a cookie on the information technology system of the person concerned. In addition, a cookie already set by Alphabet Inc. can be deleted at any time via the Internet browser or other software programs.
Google AdSense also uses so-called tracking pixels. A tracking pixel is a miniature graphic that is embedded in websites to enable log file recording and log file analysis, which enables statistical evaluation to be carried out. Using the embedded tracking pixel, Alphabet Inc. can recognize whether and when a website was opened by a data subject and which links were clicked on by the data subject. Tracking pixels are used, among other things, to evaluate the flow of visitors to a website.
Google AdSense transfers personal data and information, which also includes the IP address and is necessary for the collection and billing of the advertisements displayed, to Alphabet Inc. in the United States of America. These personal data are stored and processed in the United States of America. Alphabet Inc. may pass this personal data collected through the technical process on to third parties.
Google AdSense is explained in more detail under this link https://www.google.de/intl/de/adsense/start/.
We have integrated Google AdWords on this website. Google AdWords is an internet advertising service that allows advertisers to place ads in Google's search engine results as well as in the Google advertising network. Google AdWords enables an advertiser to define certain keywords in advance by means of which an advertisement is only displayed in Google's search engine results if the user calls up a keyword-relevant search result with the search engine. In the Google advertising network, the ads are distributed to thematically relevant websites using an automatic algorithm and taking into account the previously defined keywords. The operating company for the services of Google AdWords is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. The purpose of Google AdWords is to promote our website by displaying interest-relevant advertising on the websites of third-party companies and in the search engine results of the Google search engine and by displaying third-party advertising on our website. If a person concerned reaches our website via a Google ad, a so-called conversion cookie is stored on the information technology system of the person concerned by Google. What cookies are has already been explained above. A conversion cookie loses its validity after thirty days and is not used to identify the person concerned. If the cookie has not yet expired, the conversion cookie is used to determine whether certain sub-pages, for example the shopping cart from an online shop system, have been accessed on our website. With the conversion cookie, both we and Google can understand whether a person concerned who came to our website via an AdWords ad generated sales, i.e. completed or canceled a purchase.
The data and information collected through the use of the conversion cookie are used by Google to create visit statistics for our website. These visit statistics are in turn used by us to determine the total number of users who were referred to us via AdWords advertisements, i.e. to determine the success or failure of the respective AdWords advertisement and to optimize our AdWords advertisements for the future . Neither our company nor other Google AdWords advertisers receive information from Google that could identify the person concerned.
The conversion cookie is used to store personal information, for example the websites visited by the person concerned. Each time you visit our website, personal data, including the IP address of the Internet connection used by the person concerned, is transmitted to Google in the United States of America. These personal data are stored by Google in the United States of America. Google may pass this personal data collected through the technical process on to third parties.
The person concerned can prevent the setting of cookies by our website, as already shown above, at any time by means of a corresponding setting in the Internet browser used and thus permanently object to the setting of cookies. Such a setting of the internet browser used would also prevent Google from setting a conversion cookie on the information technology system of the person concerned. In addition, a cookie already set by Google AdWords can be deleted at any time via the Internet browser or other software programs.
The data subject also has the option of objecting to interest-based advertising by Google. To do this, the person concerned must call up the link https://www.google.de/settings/ads from each of the Internet browsers they use and make the desired settings there.
Further information and the applicable data protection provisions of Google can be found at https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/.

We have integrated components from DoubleClick by Google on this website. DoubleClick is a brand of Google, under which mainly special online marketing solutions are marketed to advertising agencies and publishers.
DoubleClick by Google is operated by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheater Pkwy, Mountain View, CA 94043-1351, USA.
DoubleClick by Google transfers data to the DoubleClick server with every impression as well as with clicks or other activities. Each of these data transfers triggers a cookie request to the browser of the person concerned. If the browser accepts this request, DoubleClick sets a cookie on the information technology system of the person concerned. What cookies are has already been explained above. The purpose of the cookie is to optimize and display advertising. The cookie is used, among other things, to place and display user-relevant advertising and to create reports on advertising campaigns or to improve them. The cookie also serves to prevent the same advertisement from being shown multiple times.
DoubleClick uses a cookie ID, which is necessary to carry out the technical process. The cookie ID is required, for example, to display an advertisement in a browser. DoubleClick can also use the cookie ID to record which advertisements have already been displayed in a browser in order to avoid duplication. The cookie ID also enables DoubleClick to record conversions. Conversions are recorded, for example, when a user has previously been shown a DoubleClick advertisement and subsequently makes a purchase on the advertiser's website using the same Internet browser.
A DoubleClick cookie does not contain any personal data. A DoubleClick cookie can, however, contain additional campaign IDs. A campaign identifier is used to identify the campaigns with which the user has already been in contact.
Every time one of the individual pages of this website, which is operated by us and on which a DoubleClick component has been integrated, is called up, the Internet browser on the information technology system of the person concerned is automatically prompted by the respective DoubleClick component to provide data for the purpose of online advertising and to submit the billing of commissions to Google. As part of this technical process, Google gains knowledge of data that Google also uses to create commission statements. Among other things, Google can understand that the person concerned clicked on certain links on our website.
The person concerned can prevent the setting of cookies by our website, as already shown above, at any time by means of a corresponding setting in the Internet browser used and thus permanently object to the setting of cookies. Such a setting of the internet browser used would also prevent Google from setting a cookie on the information technology system of the person concerned. In addition, cookies already set by Google can be deleted at any time via an Internet browser or other software programs.

Google Dynamic Remarketing
We use Firebase technology from Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA in our apps. This is a real-time database with which real-time information can be embedded in one's own website in order to better understand and optimize user behavior in the apps. In addition, other functions of Firebase are also used, which enable better user guidance or an analysis of the causes of crashes in the apps:
Firebase Analytics enables the analysis of the use of our offer. This collects information about the use of our app, transfers it to Google and stores it there. Google uses the device's advertising ID for this. Google will use the information mentioned to evaluate the use of our app anonymously and to provide us with other services related to the use of apps. You can restrict the use of the advertising ID in the device settings (iOS: Data protection / Advertising / No ad tracking; Android: Account / Google / Ads).
Firebase Crash Reporting is used for the stability and improvement of the app. This collects information about the device used and the use of our app (e.g. the time stamp, when the app was started and when the crash occurred), which enables us to diagnose and solve problems. You can find information about how Crashlytics works here: https://firebase.google.com/products/crashlytics/
Firebase Remote Config enables the configuration of app settings so that we can change the app on the end device on which it is installed without having to completely reinstall it from the respective app store each time it is changed. For this purpose, the device information, language settings and country settings are transmitted to Google in the USA and processed there. You can find information about how Remote Config works here: https://firebase.google.com/products/remote-config/
Firebase Cloud Messaging is used to be able to transmit push messages or so-called in-app messages (messages that are only displayed within the app). A pseudonymized push reference is assigned to the mobile device, which serves as the target for the push messages or in-app messages. The push notifications can be deactivated and reactivated at any time in the settings of the mobile device. You can find information about how cloud messaging works here: https://firebase.google.com/products/cloud-messaging/
Further information can be found in Firebase's data protection declaration at https://www.firebase.com/terms/privacy-policy.html. In the app, tracking of all Firebase services can be prevented for the future by setting the slide switch accordingly.
Our website also uses Google Optimize. Google Optimize analyzes the use of different variants of our website and helps us to improve the user-friendliness according to the behavior of our users on the website. Google Optimize is a tool integrated with Google Analytics.
Localytics is an analysis tool offered and operated by Char Software Inc. based in Boston MA, USA. Localytics records data that is generated when using our apps. This includes user actions in relation to the use of the app (e.g. opening the app, reading articles, calling up the ePaper or offer pages) as well as the interaction (view, click) with advertising material delivered via Localytics (push notifications and in- App messages). On the basis of the data collected, Localytics is used to segment users, which is the basis for the delivery of in-app advertising material and push notifications. In this way, Localytics enables us to present content and offers that are more and more appropriate to your usage habits as you use the app. In order to be able to measure and optimize the success of the delivered advertising material, Localytics records data on purchases (product, price) within the app. As soon as a user logs in or registers in the app, this is also recorded. The information is linked to the so-called "Unique Installation ID", an identification of the individual installation that Localytics sets itself. More information on data protection at Localytics is available at https://www.localytics.com/privacy-policy/. To deactivate Localytics and to exclude the collection of usage data for web analysis purposes, you must deactivate the Adjust and Localytics switch in the data protection provisions within the app for the apps.
"REM", a web analysis service provided by CeleraOne GmbH (Usedomer Straße 4, 13355 Berlin), collects and stores data on our website, from which usage profiles are created using pseudonyms. These usage profiles are used to analyze visitor behavior and are used to improve and tailor our offerings. Cookies or similar technologies are used for this.
If you do not agree to the above-described collection and use of usage data by the web analysis tool described, you can deactivate REM.
In order to deactivate REM and exclude the collection of usage data, a cookie (called "REMOptOut") must be set. To do this, please click here.
To deactivate REM and to exclude the collection of usage data for web analysis purposes, you must deactivate the corresponding switch in the data protection provisions within the app for our apps.
Scalable central measurement method (AGOF / IVW)
We use the measurement method ("SZMnG") of INFOnline GmbH (https://www.INFOnline.de) to determine statistical parameters about the use of our offers. The purpose of measuring usage is to determine the number of visitors and their surfing behavior statistically - on the basis of a uniform standard procedure - and thus to obtain values that are comparable across the market. The user categories created in this way form the basis for an interest-based alignment of advertising material or advertising measures. For this purpose, INFOnline GmbH saves the IP address shortened by 1 byte for a maximum of 60 days. Range processing also uses either a third-party cookie, a first-party cookie, a "local storage object" or a signature that is created from various automatically transmitted information from your browser to recognize computer systems. This identifier is unique to a browser as long as the cookie or local storage object is not deleted. A measurement of the data and subsequent assignment to the respective ClientIdentifier is therefore also possible if you call up other websites that also use the measurement method ("SZMnG") of INFOnline GmbH. The validity of the cookie is limited to a maximum of 1 year. In the case of apps, the following unique device IDs can be transmitted to INFOnline GmbH as a hash: Advertising identifier, installation ID, Android ID, vendor ID. A measurement of the data and subsequent assignment to the respective client identifier is also possible if you call up other websites that also use the measurement method ("SZMnG") of INFOnline GmbH. The usage data in connection with a unique identifier are stored for a maximum of 6 months. For all digital offers that are members of the information community for determining the distribution of advertising media eV (IVW - http://www.ivw.eu) or the studies of the online research association (AGOF - http: // www. agof.de), the usage statistics are regularly processed by the AGOF and the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Media-Analyze eV (agma - http://www.agma-mmc.de) into reach and published with the performance value "Unique User" as well as by the IVW with the performance values "Page Impression" and "Visits". These ranges and statistics can be viewed on the respective websites. For the creation of the AGOF study, data with client identifiers but without an IP address are passed on to the following AGOF service providers: Kantar Deutschland GmbH (https://www.tns-infratest.com/), Ankordata GmbH & Co. KG (http://www.ankordata.de/homepage/) and Interrogare GmbH (https://www.interrogare.de/). The measurement using the SZMnG measurement method by INFOnline GmbH is carried out with a legitimate interest. For the marketing of our offer, a usage measurement, which guarantees a comparability with other market participants, is essential. In addition, we have a legitimate interest in making the pseudonymized data available to INFOnline, AGOF and IVW for the purpose of market research (AGOF, agma) and for statistical purposes (INFOnline, IVW). Furthermore, we have a legitimate interest in making the pseudonymized data available to INFOnline for the further development and provision of interest-based advertising material. Further information on data protection in the measurement process can be found on the website of INFOnline GmbH (https://www.infonline.de), which operates the measurement process, the AGOF data protection website (http://www.agof.de/datenschutz) and the IVW data protection website (http://www.ivw.eu/datenschutz). If you do not want to take part in the measurement, you can object under the following link: https://optout.ioam.de. In order to guarantee exclusion from the measurement, it is technically necessary to set a cookie. If you delete the cookies in your browser, it is necessary to repeat the opt-out process under the link above. In order to deactivate AGOF / IVW and to exclude the collection of usage data for web analysis purposes, you must deactivate the corresponding switch in the data protection provisions within the app for the apps.
